They Are Worthy
Beads drying on toothpicksHere's the basic plan (the heavy duty business planning starts in September):
The women will be contracted with our company (name in production) for a predetermined amount of time. They will be required to make 200 good beads per month in order to stay in the program, as well as go to English classes and Bible study weekly. The 200 good beads are a minimum (they can always make more) and will provide enough money to save for their housing come next year. The women are currently practicing the skill, and soon will be required to start making their minimum quota. There are American's and Haitians there overseeing the production of the beads, as well as the quality.
But we aren't stopping at beads. We are using them to make unique, one of a kind, beautiful jewelry and other products. They are learning a skill, we are cultivating a market, and together, with the Lord's blessing and within His will, we can hopefully and humbly build a business to keep these women safe and secure.
Our sincere hope is to empower them economically, emotionally, spiritually, and educationally. We only desire that they live in the comfort and peace that comes from the Lord. We are working to help them see the Lord cares for them, will provide for them, and will not forsake them. The four of us, Nicole, Caroline, Lauren, and I, as well as the director of IMPACT, Breanne Minefee, and our partners with New Vision Ministry are committed to be the Lord's hands and feet in Montrouis. We are so blessed and thankful to have been gifted the chance to be a part of this story, this section of God's global narrative. We cannot wait to see how the Story goes.
